About the Hackathon
The East Bay High School Hackathon is a beginner-friendly coding event designed specifically for high school students, regardless of their coding experience.
Whether you've never written a line of code or you're already building apps, our hackathon provides the perfect environment to learn, collaborate, and create amazing projects.
No prior coding experience required! We'll have workshops, mentors, and resources to help you get started and guide you throughout the day.

Here's what to expect during our one-day hackathon. We've designed the schedule to include plenty of learning opportunities, coding time, and fun activities.
Check-in & Breakfast

Opening Ceremony

Team Formation
Find teammates or finalize your existing team. Mentors will be available to help.
Beginner Workshop: Intro to Coding
A beginner-friendly introduction to coding concepts and tools you'll use during the hackathon.
Intermediate Workshop: Web Development
Learn how to build interactive websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Hacking Begins
Start working on your projects! Mentors will be circulating to provide guidance.
Lunch
Take a break and enjoy lunch with fellow participants.
Workshop: Building Your First App
Learn how to turn your idea into a working application.
Mentor Check-in
Mentors will visit teams to provide feedback and help with any challenges.
Snack Break
Recharge with snacks and refreshments.
Workshop: Presenting Your Project
Tips and techniques for effectively presenting your hackathon project.
Final Hour of Hacking
Last push to complete your projects!
Hacking Ends & Dinner
Pencils down! Enjoy dinner while preparing for presentations.
Project Presentations
Each team will have 2 minutes to present their project to judges and other participants.
Awards Ceremony
Announcement of winners and prize distribution.
Closing Remarks & Pickup
Final thoughts, thank yous, and parent pickup.
